Guam Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport (GUM) Information: History and Facilities
The history of Guam's Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport started soon after the end of the Second World War, when the Agana Naval Air Station opened. Sited on Brewer Field, this airfield soon grew in size and in later years, civilian passenger flights soon began, increasing in the mid-1970s, when the Airport Authority began managing operations.

By the early 1980s, passenger levels necessitated the building of a custom terminal, which was soon completed and greatly improved the overall first impressions of the airport. In 1989, the airport was officially named as the Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport (GUM), honouring a local delegate at the US House of Representatives. By the mid-1990s, a new terminal building was constructed at a cost of almost $250 million, considerably bigger than the previous terminal, which is currently no longer in use.

The terminal at Guam Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport contains an array of amenities to meet the needs of passengers. Banking and financial services are provided by the Bank of Guam, Bank of Hawaii, the Western Island Network and TravelexAmericas, while other facilities include Internet kiosks and duty-free shopping. Food and beverages are available close to the main shops and those requiring a little sustenance will find the outlets of Burger King, Domino's Pizza, Micronesian Munchies, Shirley's Coffee Shop and Weinerschnitzel particularly popular.

A fully-equipped conference centre has great services and equipment, while the nearby Airport Hotel Maiana, Hilton Guam, Westin Resort and Marriott Hotel all boast state-of-the-art conference facilities. Worth noting, the Continental Airlines Presidents Club VIP Lounge offers additional options.
